Dr Sama Bilbao y León, Director General, World Nuclear Association, joined a Summit panel on the opening day of the conference to analyse the impact of carbon pricing, emissions trading schemes, and carbon markets on mobilising investment for low-carbon energy infrastructure. Discussion focused on the financing frameworks, development of private capital markets, and the role of international development finance to drive the net zero transition.

Later, on 21 October, Dr Bilbao y León joined an Energy Insights panel to discuss the critical challenge of ensuring that the shift to sustainable energy is equitable, inclusive, and beneficial for all segments of society.
